Who We Are
UrbanLUX Builders is not a production builder. We don’t have a model home, we don’t run TV ads, and we don’t chase volume. We build one home at a time, for one family at a time, and we put our names on every project we finish.
Founded by Patrick Hamann—a licensed Texas real estate broker and 24-year construction veteran—UrbanLUX was created to do one thing well: build measurably better homes in the San Antonio Hill Country than the standard custom builder market offers. Sixteen years and more than 200 completed homes later, that’s still the mandate.
We work with clients who care about how their home performs over the next 30 years, not just how it looks on move-in day. That focus filters who we work with and shapes every decision from foundation to finishes.
What High Performance Means Here
Most builders use the words “energy efficient” loosely. For us, high performance has measurable meaning:
- Verified, not assumed. Every home we build gets blower door tested and HVAC commissioned before handoff—performance is measured, not hoped for.
- 40–60% lower utility bills. Compared to standard new construction, our homes typically deliver 40–60% lower energy costs, so clients experience the math, not just the marketing.
- Performance features as standard. Aeroseal duct sealing, closed-cell spray foam, energy recovery ventilation, MERV 13+ filtration, and smart automation are built in from day one. These are standard, not upgrades.
- Designed for South Texas. A high-performance home in Vermont is not the same problem as a high-performance home in San Antonio. We design specifically for 105°F summers, humidity, and cedar season air quality in the Central Texas Hill Country.

How We Work
Because Patrick is a licensed Texas real estate broker, we can handle both the lot search and the build under one umbrella when clients want that support. This closes the gap most builders create between “find a Realtor” and “find a builder,” and keeps the process more coordinated from day one.
Most of our clients come through referral or organic search, which means we don’t have to sell the way high-volume builders do. Our process is intentionally slower, more deliberate, and less margin-driven than a production builder’s.
We don’t have a model home because we don’t build the same home twice. Every project starts with the lot, the family, and what they actually want for the next 30 years—then we design and build around that vision.
Where We Build
We build across San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country, including San Antonio (78255), Cantera Hills, The Canyons at Scenic Loop, Helotes, Boerne, and Fredericksburg.
We maintain active relationships and ongoing projects in:
- Cantera Hills – Gated community, NISD schools, custom-only builder pool.
- The Canyons at Scenic Loop – Hill Country views with ½–12 acre lots.
- Boot Ranch, Fredericksburg – Gated luxury community with 1–10 acre lots and no city taxes.
- Pecan Springs, Boerne – Private 1–5 acre lots set in mature pecan groves.
- Comanche Trace, Kerrville – Gated luxury community with championship golf.
